Terms & Conditions

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1.  The Venomous Herpetology Symposium is operated by The Rattlesnake Conservancy and Save The Snakes, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporations.

1.2.  References to “us”, “we”, and “our” refers to The Rattlesnake Conservancy and Save The Snakes.  References to “you” and “your” refers to the entity completing a purchase.

1.3  All registered attendees are subject to these Terms and Conditions.

 

2.  TICKET REFUND POLICY

2.1  General Admission to the Venomous Herpetology Symposium: The Venomous Herpetology Symposium may be transferred up to 10 days before the event.  

2.2  You may request a full-refund and cancel your ticket so long as your request for refund is received at least 45 days before the event takes place.

2.3.a:  If your request for refund was received less than 45 days before the event takes place, you may still request a refund and cancel your ticket, however you are only eligble to a 50% refund.

2.4: No refunds are allowed after 10 days before the event.

 

3. USE OF LIKENESS IN MARKETING

3.1  We the right to publicly announce your participation in the Venomous Herpetology Symposium, including but not limited to announcements on social media.

3.2.  We may use any photography or video of  all days where the Venomous Herpetology Symposium takes place, which may capture your image and likeness.

 

4. CHANGES TO THE CONFERENCE

4.1  It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to alter the advertised content, timing and/or location of the conference or advertised speakers or cancel the event.  We reserve the right to take these actions at any time.

4.2  Any request of cancellations due to changes in advertised content, timing, and/or location of the conference will be processed according to the Ticket Refund Policy described in Paragraph 2.

4.3.  No refunds will be given in response to cancellations outside of the scope of our Ticket Refund Policy described in Paragraph 2.

4.4. We are not liable to you for fees, travel, accommodation, or other costs and expenses if we are required to cancel or modify the conference as a result of an event outside of our control.  This includes, but is not limited to, acts of God, floods, lightning, storm, fire, explosion, military operations, war, acts of terrorism, or threats of such acts, any strike action, lock-outs, or widespread illness or force majeure.

 

5. CONTENT

5.1 All rights in all presentations, documentation and materials published or otherwise made available as part of the conference (including but not limited to any presentations or audio or audio-visual recording of the conference) (“Content”) are intellectual property of the presenter and owned by us or are included with the permission of the owner of the rights. You shall not distribute, reproduce, modify, store, transfer or in any other way use any of the Content for commercial reasons or in any way that might infringe third party rights or that may bring us or any of our affiliates into disrepute.

5.2 The Content of the Venomous Herpetology Symposium does not necessarily reflect our views or opinions.

5.3 We take reasonable care to ensure that the Content presented at the Venomous Herpetology Symposium is accurate and complete, however, presentations are supplied by third parties and we are unable to check its accuracy or completeness. You should verify the accuracy of any information (whether supplied by us or third parties) before relying on it. The Content is provided on an “AS IS” basis without any warranties of any kind (express or implied). We hereby exclude to the fullest extent permitted by law all liabilities, costs, claims, damages, losses and/or expenses arising from any inaccuracy or omission in the Content or arising from any infringing, defamatory or otherwise unlawful material in the Content.

5.4 To the extent that any Content is made available by us on our website or any other online channels, we reserve the right to suspend or remove access to such Content at any time.

 

6. LIABILITY

6.1 Our aggregate liability to you, whether such liability arises in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, for any damages, loss, costs, claims or expenses of any kind howsoever arising, out of in connection with any booking (or requested booking) made by you or otherwise in relation to a conference, shall be limited to the price paid by you in respect of your booking to attend the conference.

6.2 We shall not be liable to you for (i) any loss of profit, loss of or damage to data, loss of anticipated savings or interest, loss of or damage to reputation or goodwill or; (ii) any indirect, special or consequential damages, loss, costs, claims or expenses of any kind.

6.3 You agree to indemnify us, our staff and our affiliates and to hold us harmless to the fullest extent permitted by law, against all loss, costs, claims or expenses of any kind arising from any act or omission by you (including your attendees) during or otherwise in relation to a conference.

 

7. GENERAL

7.1 These Terms and Conditions contain the entire agreement and understanding between The Rattlesnake Conservancy, Save The Snakes, and you and supersede all prior agreements, understandings or arrangements (both oral and written) relating to the subject matter of these Terms and Conditions and any such document.

7.2 These Terms and Conditions do not create, nor shall they be interpreted as creating, any partnership or agency relationship between us.

7.3 You agree to electronic means of communication and you acknowledge that all such communications that we provide to you electronically comply with any legal or contractual requirement that such communication be made in writing.

7.4 These Terms and Conditions and the rights and obligations of both parties shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Ohio.

7.5 We reserve the right to refuse entry at our sole discretion.

 

8. CODE OF CONDUCT

8.1  The Venomous Herpetology Symposium operates under a state of beliefs, which we adopt as our code of conduct, which may be found here.
